Maritza joined Cambridge Community Television in December 2019. Her role is to support the administrative and communications functions of CCTV, and promote and publicize classes, channels, events, and the internship program. Her experience varies in the nonprofit sector, with community building and amplifying marginalized voices being her main priorities. She hosts a monthly program called History in Lowell with UMass Lowell Professor Robert Forrant, where they uncover Lowell’s rich history and connect it to broader social issues today like immigration policy, racial justice, and more. She has sat on various boards of directors in Lowell, and has facilitated various workshops and conversations regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion, and she is ready to get more involved in the Cambridge community. She is outspoken about addressing issues of disparities and inequities, especially those facing Black, Indigenous, and people of color. Maritza is passionate about community and believes the greatest joy comes from serving others.
