2024 Breakfast with City of Cambridge Leaders
On February 1st, CNC hosted a networking breakfast at Google's Kendall Square headquarters, aimed at fostering dialogue and identifying mutual priorities between nonprofit professionals and city leaders. It was a resounding success, with over 120 attendees, including Mayor E. Denise Simmons, City Manager Yi-An Huang, eight out of nine city councilors, and numerous members of the Cambridge nonprofit community. Many guests remarked on the valuable networking opportunities and the potential for future partnerships that emerged from the breakfast meeting.
Program Highlights:
  • Keynote Addresses: Mayor Simmons and City Manager Huang emphasized the crucial role of nonprofits in Cambridge and the importance of city-nonprofit collaboration.
  • Interactive Panel Discussion: City councilors discussed ways to support and enhance nonprofit initiatives. This session included a Q&A segment with the audience.
  • Mixing and Mingling: Attendees were given ample time to connect with fellow community leaders, leaving with at least one new connection that could potentially lead to future partnerships.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors - Google (host sponsor), Massachusetts 401(k) CORE Plan for small nonprofits, MIT, and Berkshire Bank - whose support was instrumental in making this event possible.
