The Winter Solstice celebration has become one of our most meaningful traditions. Families arrive bundled in scarves and gloves. They follow lantern-lit paths past frozen ponds and snow-dusted monuments. Music drifts through the trees. This event began as a simple idea—to offer light, reflection, and connection during the darkest days of winter. It now welcomes more than 20,000 visitors each year. The evening blends beauty and purpose, inviting everyone to pause, remember, and feel part of something larger. Each candle, each song, and each shared moment reflects what Mount Auburn strives to be: a place where nature, remembrance, and community meet. The glow of the Solstice carries forward long after the night ends—a reminder that even in darkness, Mount Auburn shines as a sanctuary of hope and renewal.
