Anne Riesenfeld

New School of Music

Anne Riesenfeld is the Executive Director of the New School of Music (NSM), a nonprofit community music school in Cambridge, MA. She was on NSM's voice faculty before becoming its Executive Director from 1999 to 2004, then went on to serve as Executive Director of Musica Sacra, a Cambridge-based chamber chorus, from 2005 to 2018, and of the Lorelei Ensemble, a professional vocal chamber ensemble, from 2018 to 2023. She returned to NSM as Executive Director in 2023 — a career spent entirely in Cambridge, where she was also a resident for ten years.

As a professional singer, Anne has performed as a soloist and choral member throughout the United States and in Europe, with recordings on the Telarc label. She holds degrees in vocal performance and composition from Bennington College and the New England Conservatory. Anne is married to a born-and-bred Cantabrigian, with whom she has  two adult children.
